Community Recovery and Resilience Leadership Forum a Success!

On October 24, 2018, we brought leaders in the risk mitigation community together to discuss:

  • The "Big One": It's coming, are we prepared? How ready are earthquake-prone areas for a major event? How prevalent is earthquake insurance?
  • The Future of Flood Insurance: What have we learned from the major events of the last two years?
  • The National Flood Insurance Program: What is NFIP doing to change its approach and is there a role for private flood insurance?
  • Protecting our Cities: Transferring catastrophe risk from taxpayers to Wall Street. In an era of ever more expensive disasters, how can governments protect their budgets and citizens at the same time?

Pictured left to right are: John Huff (President & CEO, ABIR), Angela Nelson (Director, Division of Market Regulation, Missouri Department of Insurance), Roy Wright (President & CEO, IBHS) , Craig Tillman (President, WeatherPredict Consulting Inc./President, RenaissanceRe Risk Sciences Foundation)), Michael Cohen (Vice President, Government Affairs & Engagement, RenaissanceRe), Ray Lehman (Director, Finance, Insurance & Trade Policy R Street Institute), Samantha Medlock (SVP, Head of North America Capital, Science & Policy Practice, Willis Towers Watson), Brian Treece (Mayor, City of Columbia, Missouri), Michael Consedine (CEO, NAIC), Stephen Weinstein (SVP and Group General Counsel, RenaissanceRe/Chairman, RenaissanceRe Risk Sciences Foundation), Daniel Stander (Global Managing Director, RMS), Jenn Fogel-Bublick (Partner, Capitol Counsel) and Nancy Watkins (Principal, Consulting Actuary, Milliman).
